Carrie and Matt's Bio:

Carrie Dodge is an adventurer from Northern Michigan who has backpacked her way through coastal rainforests, rock climbed in desert canyons, canoed and kayaked in waters throughout North America, sailed in the fjords of Norway, and hiked the glacial valleys of Scotland. She is a NOLS graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Outdoor Experiential Education from Prescott College in Arizona. She has worked her way around the backcountry from coast to coast, leading youth-at-risk in a wilderness therapy program in Western Montana and guiding and training campers and staff through the remote New England woods.

Matt Horton is a native of Michigan and a multi-sport enthusiast. He is a volunteer Wilderness Firefighter/EMT, multi-sport coach for the Carmichael Training Systems, and SCUBA diving guide. He loves to rock climb, fly-fish and sky dive, and has competed in multiple triathlons. Growing up, Matt had the opportunity to hike sections of the Appalachian Trail, white water raft on the Colorado River, and explore many of our nation's pristine Natural Parks. Matt has a Bachelor's in Exercise Science with a focus on nutrition, and loves any sport that offers him a challenge. He was born and raised to Get Out More!

Carrie and Matt met while teaching marine science in the Florida Keys and have since been hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail, tackling the mountains of the west, exploring the lakes of Canada, and fishing the rivers and streams of Colorado together. They are gear junkies who jump at the opportunity to enjoy any new outdoor experience. Together they are the Get Out More road team, who will hit the trail running in April 2006, doing more than 60 Get Out More presentations and driving more than 20,000 miles around the country. Watch the adventure online at www.backpacker.com/getoutmore or catch them when they come to a town near you.
